GM assigns regional head | Bangkok Post: auto

Stefan Jacoby, GM executive vice-president, said that as the industry continues to change, the company is becoming more focused and disciplined. Yesterday GM announced Ian Nicholls as new president of GM Southeast Asia, based in Bangkok, effective from Sept 1. Mr Nicholls is the second new executive at GM in Thailand after Sumito Ishii, interim managing director of GM Thailand and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, was appointed in mid-June. Mr Nicholls said the consolidated business structure would enable GM to leverage regional talent, increase efficiency, speed up the decision-making process and reduce bureaucracy. "It will also sharpen our focus on innovation," said Mr Nicholls.
